Incorporated on August 24, 1904
On December 1, 1870, the area was originally platted and called Ralston Point. In order to avoid confusion with other communities along Ralston Creek, Ralston Point was soon renamed Arvada in honor of Hiram Arvada Haskin.
Arvada is the site of the first documented discovery of gold in the Rocky Mountain Region. As a vibrant agricultural community, Arvada was once known as the “Celery Capital of the World.”
